Reverse Harem Romances #PNR #SFR #reverseharem #whychoose

I think one of the most common questions I've seen in romance forums lately is "What is Reverse Harem, exactly?"

At a very basic level, a reverse harem romance is about one woman in concurrent relationships with three or more men. At the end of the story, rather than choose one among them, she chooses to continue having relationships with all of them.

Other than that basic premise--encoded in the RH motto "Why Choose?"--a reverse harem may belong to any subgenre of romance. A reverse harem novel may be paranormal, contemporary, science fiction, young adult, adult... as you can see in the variety of reverse harem books I've recently released. :)

In Rift Spun, a novelette in Night Fire, arachno-mage Rhiann plans to use the magic of the Rift to take down the ruling Archmage Prime, a necromancer who killed her family. To do that, she’ll need to find three men willing to become her familiars—one shifter, one demon, and one angel. Lucky for her, she won’t have to choose only one.

  Night Fire (1)

In All that Glitters, when one of pack-leader Alia's mates is taken by a raiding ship searching for gold, she vows to get him back no matter what it takes. Even if that means teaming up with another pack--the one that was once her pack's greatest rival.

  0119-AllThatGlitters-Small

In A Streak of Tigers, available in Magic and Alphas, tiger-shifter Lana has to decide how to deal with not one, but three new tigers in her life!

In Seduced by the Gladiators, Hannah joins an expedition to the long-lost Lurran colony, where she discovers that their answer to a shortage of women might be her answer to finding a new life.

Tell me: what kind of reverse harem do you think would appeal to you most?

NIGHT FIRE: A Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance Collection #PNR #reverseharem #KU

7 ALL NEW Reverse Harem Romances

Women who refuse to choose—and the magical men who adore them.

For a limited time only, this reverse harem paranormal romance anthology from New York Times, USA Today, and international bestselling and debut authors brings you seven sexy stories of love with angels, demons, dragon shifters, mages, mermaids, warlocks, witches, wolf shifters, and more! And our heroines never have to love just one.

This collection of steamy reverse harem paranormal romances includes the following stories:

How to Train Your Witch by Monica Corwin
Aurelia, Caden, and Winter escaped the wrath of the council once before—until a witch shows up looking to verify their claim of love and devotion, or uncover truth that Aurelia bewitched the men in her life. Able is unlike any man Aurelia has ever met. Unlike her vampire and werewolf lovers, a witch is a new kind of challenge. What happens to love when magic enters the game?

The Twelve Men of Christmas by Ever Coming
When Dara inherited her father’s position as pack Alpha, she knew she’d have to mate eventually. She’s even narrowed down the field—to twelve men. But now she’s been given an ultimatum: pick a mate or lose the pack. She has until Christmas—twelve days, twelve men. How can she possibly pick just one?

Dr. Jekyll’s Mr. Hydes by Erin Hayes
With taboo thoughts about three guys in her life, Dr. Grace Jekyll has a problem on her hands. But then again, these three men may be just what she’s looking for.

Dragon Huntress by Blaire Edens
For the last seven hundred years, one person in Leonine’s family has stood in the breach between good and evil: The Jagerbose. When Leonine learns she’ll be inheriting the position, she doesn’t have much time to learn all the skills she’ll need to save the world. But she has help. Lots of help. Not only is her first love March helping her to learn how to wield a sword, there’s Geldkeep, a Nordic God who advises her on protocol, and Dane, a delicious Englishman who is a little Bond, and a little Bourne. It would be easy to fall in love with any of the men who are sworn to dedicate their lives to the mission of the Jagerbose, but in order for good to prevail, Leo will have to fall in love with all three.

The Lost Men of Atlantis by N. R. Larry
She’s the high priestess of the seven seas. They’re her familiars. After failing to assassinate the sea king, Zarya is on the run. Stuck on the surface, she uncovers a plot that just might ruin Atlantis. Luckily, she has her three fiercest warriors with her, and together, they hatch a plan to take back the underwater city from a mad king. But first, they must make good on a promise to a surface dweller involving a nasty bunch of ghosts.

Vampires Don’t Give Hickeys by Holly Ryan
She's a slayer. They're the vampire nest she can't resist.

Rift Spun by Margo Bond Collins
Arachno-mage Rhiann plans to use the magic of the Rift to take down the ruling Archmage Prime, a necromancer who killed her family. To do that, she’ll need to find three men willing to become her familiars—one shifter, one demon, and one angel. Lucky for her, she won’t have to choose only one.

Why are you so afraid of science fiction romance? A Guest Post by Paxton Summers

Why are you so afraid of science fiction romance?

Okay, I get it, it’s not your thing. But hey, have you read or watched the Hunger Games? Have you read or watched the movie, I Am Number Four? How about Jurassic Park? The Abyss?

Yes? Then you’ve experienced a form of science fiction romance, or science fiction with romance elements.

But wait, none of those take place in space or on a ship, that’s not science fiction.

Oh, but it is.

I understand what you’re saying, but did you know that while many science fiction novels or novellas do take place in space, many others don’t. Even better, you might find a few that cross genres into paranormal, historical, military, and even contemporary and suspense. The nuts and bolts technology is there, just as the flaming clothing and flying crafts, and various other technologies are employed in the Hunger Games (a dystopian young adult romance), to keep the competitors in the arena. Wait, you liked that book? Then I’ve got a series or two for you.

I’ve been talking about misconceptions in science fiction romance all week. The number one misconception is that you have to have a thorough understanding of science to love them. This is not true. Though science is incorporated in many science fiction romance novels, often it flawlessly flows and more often than not, crosses genres, and you don’t need a textbook to grasp the story. Actually, you just have to have an open mind.

Here’s a little secret about science fiction romance you may not have thought about. Science was once fantasy, and many novels written in the genre have a touch of it—sometimes more than that.

Yes, most science was once fantasy. It’s true. Think about it. Two hundred years ago you would have been tried as a witch and burned at the stake for suggesting a person could use a cell phone, or watch plays on the big screen and television. What was once magic to one people, became hard fact, once the myth became proved science. Let’s get a little more modern shall we, and bend some electromagnetic waves to make something or someone invisible to the naked eye. Get out! You can’t do that. Oh yes you can. It’s true. By bending EM waves, you can make a person or object invisible. Science! Booyah. The invisible girl has become a reality. Got to love that.

So, step into my parlor said the spider to the fly. My mission is to hook you on an often misjudged and much too neglected genre, which has more to offer than you can possibly imagine. My challenge, if you chose to accept it, is to pick up the first book in my NA Dystopian series, written as Paxton Summers, called Clone, the Book of Eva. While not a romance, it has romantic elements and it’s a good start if you’re looking to sink your teeth into this genre, but don’t want to jump into the deep end of the pool.

Clone the Book of Eva is available here:

You might discover how friendly and fun this genre is. And don’t be surprised to find that something you’ve been afraid to try, really wasn’t what you thought it was.

Go ahead, pick one up. I dare you.

 ~Paxton Summers

When a world leader’s daughter meets a clone, a doomed love affair begins.

In the year 2087, a great war erupts on the planet and a struggle to survive begins. One hundred-fifty years later, the continent of America is divided into two factions, Aeropia and The United Regions. There is a shortage of food and an abundance of illness, leaving most to live on the scraps of the wealthy, who wallow in excess.

This is the world Olivia Braun inherits. Sick from birth, she wakes up from surgery with a new heart, only to discover she is the youngest president of Aeropia, an empire that has created and used clones to maintain its position of supremacy since the war. However, Olivia’s rise to power is no accident. Before her transplant, she conspired with a clone to free those enslaved, but the outcome is not what she expected.

Now, enemies hide among the population, and even friends can no longer be trusted. Olivia must make a choice that will decide the fate of an empire. Before her tale of corruption, forbidden love and war ends, the mighty will be brought to their knees.

By a clone.

 EXCERPT

“You’re blackmailing me,” I sneered at him, fury raging within me at the realization. “You want me to do something in return before you allow me to wake up.”

He raised his hand in a gesture of supplication. “Not blackmail,” he assured. “I’m looking to employ you for a time.”

I recoiled. “Employ me? As what? Muscle? Is this the Underworld’s version of the Mafia?” Now that I thought about it, Hades did remind me of a mob boss. He even looked like some I knew.

“I don’t play that, sorry.” Hades grinned. “I want to make a deal with you, Callista. You find out who is trying to kill my son. Give me a name and a motive. And I’ll restore you to life.”

5 Giant Stars for Lindsey R. Loucks' LEGACY

1-Lindsey

Finding him was easy. Figuring him out is the hard part.

Only one thing could make nineteen-year-old Hadley Hawthorn leave her house for the first time in two years—revenge. The Isa fae murdered her entire family, so the promise of ending their control over witches like Hadley is too sweet to resist.

All she needs to do is find Kason Fields, a human who’s supposedly the key to ending Isa fae power. Hadley’s hacking skills and her patience level of zero make that part simple. But when she inadvertently leads the Isa fae straight to Kason’s doorstep, things get complicated. Now, it’s up to her to keep them both two steps ahead of the murderous fae.

But staying close to the secretive Kason unfurls something even stronger than Hadley’s need for revenge—hope. When the Isa fae close in, though, hope may not be enough to keep them both alive.

Review

When Hadley Hawthorn heads out into the ice and snow in search of revenge, she has no idea she might just find hope instead. Tortured by her past and convinced she has no future, Hadley still can't help but be drawn to the possibilities for life that she glimpses when she meets Kason Fields.

Lindsey Loucks' LEGACY is everything I love in a fantasy romance. The heroine is smart and snarky, but vulnerable nonetheless. The hero is handsome and brooding, but tender, too. Add in some evil fae hunting them both, and the result is a wild ride as these two go careening through their frozen world, sparking change wherever they land--as well as lighting a fire between the two of them that could melt an icecap.

Five GIANT stars!!!

Damned Either Way
Erin Hayes
(The Harker Trilogy, #3)
Publication date: May 31st 2017
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance

The thrilling conclusion to The Harker Trilogy

I’m finally free of my family’s curse.
Except now, the world is ending. FML.

Anthony, the vampire that killed my sister and my brother-in-law, has won. I’ve lost everything. I no longer have my powers. I have no idea where Amelia is. And the vampire I love has surrendered to the hunger that is throwing the world into chaos.

The worst part? I can’t do anything about it, because I’m no longer the Harker. Sure, I’m not dying anymore, but I’m barely living at this point.
But there may be one last chance to save us all. If only I can find it in me to make one final sacrifice.

The complete trilogy is on sale for only $0.99 until June 5th!

EXCERPT:

The Twinkie is mushed and some of the cream is coming out, but as I pull it out of the wrapper, I can’t help but be gentle.

I found the single-serve pastry in a hollowed-out convenience store in downtown Birmingham a few days back. It’s the only thing resembling a cake that we’ve found on our way to Austin. In the aftermath of the apocalypse, all the grocery stores are empty as everyone panicked and stole every little thing they could get their hands on. Many of them are now hiding out in their houses during the night.

Those that are alive anyway.

I could make a cake myself, but we are never in one place long enough for me to find an oven and make one. With one arm, it’s a little…hard.

Besides, this is just a small ritual that I want to do myself. I don’t need to decorate it. I just need to…pay tribute. With the only kind of food that would survive the apocalypse.

I light the candle that I stuck in it, its soft glow flickering in the dying light. I give a small smile, feeling my heart break.

“Happy birthday, Amelia.”
